Sophie said:

“I am really happy with what I have achieved as I was really nervous coming to school today – I am especially proud of how I have done over this year especially. It has been a tough couple of years and we have missed out on so much so this is just so pleasing! I’m really excited about starting Trinity Sixth Form and I am definitely aiming to go to university. Thanks to all my teachers for supporting me”

Former St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Middlesbrough pupil, Paige Heseltine has excelled in her GCSEs – achieving four grade 9s, four grade 8s and a Distinction*. Paige’s determination to succeed has led to her performing well above her projected grades and teachers are delighted with her results.

Her next chapter will see her remain at Trinity Catholic College in the Sixth Form where she will study A-level, Maths, Chemistry, Physics and History. “I am so happy with my results – I am speechless,” said Paige.

She went on to add “I am so proud of myself as I kept on improving as the year went on. I cannot wait to start Trinity Sixth Form, this has really boosted my self confidence!”.

Hard works pay off

Floyd will study A-level Maths, Physics and Biology in a bid to achieve top grades and go onto read mechanical engineering at university . He will also undertake a programme of elite-level, competitive football as part of his studies.

Floyd said:
“I’m ecstatic with what I have got – it is much better than I expected. I worked really hard in Year 11 and it has paid off. I must thank Mr Murray for Maths, but also to all my teachers who have been brilliant to me. I am also excited to start at T6 Football Academy in September!”.

Aerospace Engineer

Lewis Murphy’s hard work has been rewarded with GCSE results that include a grade 9, five grade 8s, a Distinction * and two grade 7s. Lewis is staying in the Trinity family and will go on to study A-level, Maths, Physics and Engineering at Trinity Sixth Form.

He aspires to study Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at university in the future.

“My science result is the one I am delighted with having got a grade 9! I wasn’t expecting to do so well in Maths either. I was nervous about this but to get an 8 is brilliant. Year 11 was hard work and sitting exams was nerve-wracking but the support I got from my teachers has made it all worthwhile!”.

Bright futures

Head Teacher of Trinity Catholic College in Middlesbrough, Louise Dwyer acknowledged the grit and determination shown by the first Year 11 cohort to sit GCSE examinations in three years.

Mrs Dwyer commented:

“The class of 2022 have worked so hard to achieve their results and this should be commended given the disruption they have faced during their two-year GCSE courses. It is the first Year 11 cohort to sit exams since the pandemic and their resilience, focus and determination has been amazing. We are so proud of them. We wish every one of our leavers the very best and the brightest of futures. We look forward to welcoming back the many pupils who will be continuing their education at our sixth form in September. The brand new post-16 T6 Football Academy launches in September on the Trinity Catholic College site and whilst this is full, Trinity Sixth Form has limited places available.”

Anyone interested in joining the sixth form family is asked to email 6thform@trinity.npcat.org.uk and someone will contact them to discuss their options
