Resilient Year 11s celebrate GCSE success after year of challenges

Schools North East warmly congratulates Prudhoe Community High School on an excellent set of GCSE results, paving the way for exciting next steps. Here’s what they had to say…

We are super proud of our Year 11 students today. Despite what has been an incredibly challenging year, with school closure, online learning and a move to a new school building 17 miles away, students have achieved great results.

Almost 80% of students achieved grades 4 and above in English, and similarly in mathematics. 85% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English or mathematics. We are incredibly proud of achievements in all subject areas, including our vocational subjects.

This has been quite a year for our Year 11 students. They adapted to the many changes and challenges they were faced with, and did this with such resilience and great humour. These results reflect the commitment and determination they had to overcome all of the obstacles they faced in the final months leading into their examinations.

We are so grateful for the support of our parents and carers, the community and our amazing staff throughout the last 6 months. What a year! (Annmarie Moore – Head Teacher)
