EduKIT: Making sense of the summer riots 86 days on – What’s changed?
Online
Narinder was invited to lead this EduKIT following the publication of a reflective article on LinkedIn after the rioting in the summer. It clearly resonated with a huge number of people, and the big question emerging was ‘what has changed?’. This will be a Q&A session followed by discussion to consider what we can do as educational leaders to support community cohesion at a time of social disaffection and unrest.
Narinder Gill has worked for over 2 decades in the educational field, successfully leading three schools as a head teacher. Her last school was the subject of her recent publication Creating Change in Urban settings which charts the journey and impact of curriculum and leadership development during challenging times. She currently works 4 days a week as the School Improvement Director for Elevate Multi-academy Trust, a Primary Trust based in North Yorkshire.
Narinder is also a School Improvement Director for the Curriculum Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation that provides curriculum-related support, advice and guidance to schools, school systems, government organisations and ministries worldwide. Since 2015 Narinder has been working on the development of the Curriculum in South Sudan. As an accredited executive business coach, Narinder has also worked alongside schools, Trusts and the private sector to design and deliver bespoke leadership programmes with a focus upon optimising well-being and resilience.
