Tantrum tests for all 4 year olds

Plans have been floated for  four-years-old to be assessed on whether they have tantrums “most days”, can sit still and are able to wait their turn.

A proposed “tantrum test” would also look at whether children starting school can join in games and whether they have lots of friends, as part of a national assessment of reception-class pupils that will be tested this autumn.

The scheme has triggered widespread concerns among critics who worry about evaluating children at such a young age.
