Park View School pupils ‘delighted’ with GCSE results

Students at Park View School in Chester-Le-Street are delighted as they collect their GCSE and Level 2 qualification results today. After an incredibly difficult few years, it is great to see so many of the students so happy and, admittedly, relieved too. These talented students have worked incredibly hard over their last few years and their results show how well they, and the school more broadly, have performed.

Andrew Finley, Headteacher, said “Our students have performed exceptionally well in trying circumstances and they deserve their moment in the sun today. It has been incredibly hard for so many to cope with the significant disruption to their education over the last few years and I am pleased to say that so many students collecting results in school today, alongside their parents and our staff too, can be rightly proud of their achievements.”

Mr Finley went on to say “Whilst the country as a whole has returned to relative normality, in education, we have been working hard to fill gaps in readiness for exams that are a test of endurance, let alone ability. Our students have taken this in their stride and produced some fantastic performances across all qualifications as shown in their results today. Everybody connected to the school should be rightly proud of these young people and the hope is that they use these results as a stepping stone to further success that is undoubtedly coming their way. Everyone at Park View are hoping to see many of our Year 11 students continue their studies in the Sixth Form and help build upon some exceptional A Level performance too that was announced last week. Enrolment to our brilliant Sixth Form and fabulous Academy of Sport will happen over Thursday and Friday where we hope to be joined by many new students from other schools, all excited to become members of our school community.”

Mr Finley continued, “As ever, we take this opportunity to celebrate not only the academic prowess of our students but to also mention their personal development too. Attending Park View is about much more than exam success and we are delighted to see such strong characters develop over their time with us. It is this commitment to developing well rounded students that we work on every day to achieve and the Class of 2023 are some of the best.”
