Hermitage Academy celebrates GCSE milestones

Students at Hermitage Academy have celebrated receiving their GCSE results today with some  fantastic achievements that cement the school’s ongoing improvements in recent years.

Notable successes include Colin Days, Adanna Izuora, Joseph Mears and Ella Jones. Alongside these,  many students achieved excellent grades in English and maths and across a wide range of subjects.

Headteacher, Darren Stewart, said:

“I am delighted by what our students have achieved today, and I’d like to say how proud I am of  everyone who worked hard and gave it their all – well done! Today is about celebrating the many individual achievements and successes. The hard work  students put in in preparation for these exams has come to fruition and their talents are being  rewarded. Alongside this, the dedication of our staff must be noted too. The resilience demonstrated by these young people is unparalleled and as adults we must not  forget the disruption they faced to their education and what they went through at such a formative  age. Facing a global pandemic’s disruptions head-on, their results today speak volumes about their  adaptability and dedication, not just academically but in tackling the many challenges thrown their  way. It’s more than just good grades they have achieved; it’s their journey of growth and  persistence.”

Chair of governors, Jim Blower, added his praise:

“The outcomes this year are a testament to Hermitage Academy’s approach to learning that  combines academic rigor with a nurturing environment. Their dedication to delivering a  comprehensive education prepares students not merely for exams, but for the broader challenges of  life. To our GCSE achievers, your hard work and determination shine bright – let this be a stepping stone  to even greater accomplishments!”
