From cradle to university: school in Ashington to take in pupils from birth

The change is to support young pupils and their parents, provide a more effective transition to nursery and school, and aims to tackle speech and language acquisition issues. The news follows Head Teacher Andrew Day’s concerns about the high number of the school’s pupils that experienced difficulties in these learning areas.

The academy will help match childminders and babies under two years old across Ashington, Lynemouth and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.
