Wyvern students rewarded with festive films and a fantastic feast for hard work and dedication

Just before Christmas (feels like a lifetime ago now, doesn’t it?!) students at Wyvern Academy celebrated their annual Wonderful Work Rewards Event, which turned out to be a magical afternoon filled with laughter and joy.

Those are two words we absolutely want associated with our region’s schools!

Wyvern Academy, part of Consilium Academies, feels deeply about the importance of celebrating hard work and dedication. So, as part of their Wonderful Work Rewards Events, they bring together students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards learning.

A new way of making memories

You could feel the excitement as students gathered in the school’s hall. Understandably so, there was an air of accomplishment in the room, and students were eager to celebrate their hard work but also to create lasting memories.

Chris Zarraga, Director of Schools North East, said: “We agree that there’s a lot of value in rewarding hard work and dedication, which is why we’re a big fan of Wyvern Academies’ Wonderful Work Rewards Event.

“Increased engagement, positive reinforcement, and social and emotional learning are all benefits of giving credit where credit is due, whether that’s through a prize, party, or a pat on the back. Great initiative from Wyvern; well done all students who celebrated.”

A well-deserved break from academic responsibilities

The students were treated to delicious pizza, sweet treats, and a classic movie, allowing them to take a well-deserved break from their academic responsibilities.

Laughter and cheers echoed through the hall as students watched the heartwarming transformation of the Grinch unfold before their eyes.

As they indulged in the delectable feast, the room buzzed with chats and giggles as the students took a step back from the rigours of academic life to unwind and bask in the joy of their accomplishments.

The event served as a reminder that hard work does not go unnoticed and that every effort contributes to a vibrant and supportive learning community. As the afternoon came to a close, students left with a renewed sense of motivation – not to mention full tummies and lots of new memories!

Mr Owen Inglis, Head Teacher at Wyvern Academy said:  “The Wonderful Work Rewards Event was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the power of acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of each individual in our school community.

In the end, the event not only celebrated the students’ wonderful work but also fostered a spirit of unity and encouragement, leaving a lasting impression that will inspire them to continue reaching for new heights in their academic journey.”

Great work, Wyvern! Any chance we can get an invite to the next event? We promise we’ll be good…
