Partnership and Pathways Drive Students’ Success at Bede Academy across A Levels, BTECs and T Levels
Bede Academy is celebrating an exceptional year of post-16 examination success, with students achieving outstanding results across A levels, BTECs and T levels. This year’s results demonstrate significant improvement across all qualification pathways.

In A levels students secured 49 A and A* grades. Among the standout achievements were Lily Malligan, who secured a prestigious place at Oxford University after attaining A* in English literature, A* in psychology and an A in religious studies. Also, the talented Wormwell twins achieved exceptional results. Thomas Wormwell earned A grades in
business studies, English literature and geography, while Jack Wormwell achieved an impressive three A* grades in computing, mathematics and physics. Their achievements showcase the strength of academic excellence at Bede Academy.
Students studying vocational qualifications also enjoyed remarkable success too. BTEC results saw a 21% increase in distinction* grades and a 24% increase in distinction grades, underlining the academy’s commitment to providing a broad range of high-
quality pathways that prepare students for university, apprenticeships and employment.

T level Health students Wiki Chamera, Alyssa Chadwick, Lewis Chapman, Bella Crucci and Amelia Hanlon all achieved Distinction grades, an outstanding accomplishment in a rigorous qualification designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and
practical experience needed for careers in the health sector. Every one of them securing a place at university to continue their studies into degree level.

Following leading roles in this year’s academy production, Maisie Diston and Ava Nolan demonstrated that they are stars both on and off the stage. Maisie achieved a B in drama, B in English language and an A in English literature, securing her place at the University of St Andrew’s, while Ava attained an A* in art alongside C grades in English language and English literature, securing her place at the University of Chichester. Their achievements reflect the academy’s commitment to character development at Bede Academy, where who you are becoming matters, just as much as what you achieve.

The academy is also delighted to celebrate the success of Jack Marshall, Fred Chandler and Natalie Laws, who, with support from grants awarded by a local charity, are now also progressing to university. Their achievements demonstrate the positive impact that community partnerships can have in helping young people realise their ambitions and take the next step in their educational journeys.
