Jesmond Park Academy celebrates the incredible achievements of Year 11

Schools North East warmly congratulates Jesmond Park Academy on an outstanding set of GCSE results, opening doors to bright futures. Here’s what they had to say…

Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results. We are immensely proud of the hard work, determination and resilience they have demonstrated throughout their studies, resulting in outstanding accomplishments. We are delighted to share in their celebrations today.

These results reflect not only the effort of each student, but also the support of their families, teachers, and peers. Together, they have shown what can be achieved through perseverance and commitment.

This year’s results have been some of the best in Jesmond Park Academy’s history, with 447 passes grades at Grade 8 and Grade 9.

We are particularly pleased to see impressive results in key subject areas with some of our best results ever:

  • 82.3% of students obtained a pass in English
  • 81.4% of students obtained a pass in Maths
  • 75.8% of students obtained a pass in both English and Maths combined
  • 72.7% of students achieved a pass in 2 Sciences

Special congratulations go out to Calum Sayers 11 grade 9’s, Kitty Kan-Lloyd 10 grade 9’s 1 grade 8, Anahita Gomari Rezaei 10 grade 9’s 1 grade 8, Ekram Abubaker 9 grade 9’s 2 grade 8’s; Elsa Watson 9 grade 9’s 2 grade 8’s; Charlotte Hodgson 9 grade 9’s 1 grade 8 and 1 grade 7, Abhinav Chandupati 8 grade 9’s

Dave Merrifield Head of School said “I am exceptionally pleased with this year’s results both in terms of attainment and progress made. It is particularly pleasing when I see how well some individuals have done in comparison to their starting points. Whilst it is lovely to celebrate the high grades that our students have achieved it is just as if not more important to recognise and celebrate the effort that students have put into their education.

“This cohort of students have been an absolute pleasure to work with over the last five years, I will see a large proportion of them back at JPA in September, for those moving on to other educational settings I would like to wish them all the best for the future”

Steve Campbell, Executive Headteacher, shared his pride, “We all couldn’t be prouder of what our Year 11 students have achieved. Today is not just about results on paper, but also about celebrating the individuals behind them and the bright futures that lie ahead.

“I’m delighted to see so many of our students continue their educational journey with us and return to our Sixth Form in September to study A Levels and Vocational courses. At the same time, we also want to recognise and celebrate those who are pursuing other pathways, including apprenticeships and career opportunities. Whatever their next steps, we wish them every success in the future.

In addition to the students, I would like to thank the unwavering dedication of our teaching staff and the Year 11 parents and carers, who have also played a crucial role in guiding and supporting our students. Today is a day of celebration for all involved.”

Congratulations again to all our students who have worked hard to achieve their best.  We wish you the very best of luck in the following steps you take to create your future.
