Longbenton High School Celebrates Outstanding A Level Success
Students and staff at Longbenton High School are celebrating today after receiving an excellent set of A Level results, marking the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication and resilience.
We are delighted to share that 26% of this year’s cohort has achieved A*-A, with 52% at A*-B, enabling students to progress to an exciting range of destinations including top universities, competitive apprenticeships and skilled employment. We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 13 students. They have worked tirelessly, supported one another, and demonstrated remarkable determination.
Notable individual successes included Max Farrow (A* A* A* A), Madeleine Egner (A A A A), Apporva Sinha (A* A* A* A), Amy Wildash (A A A), Neema Lulu (A A B) and Bhumika Arora (A A B).
Head Teacher Kelly Holbrook said: “Longbenton High Sixth Form is a special place: a vibrant community where students thrive; large enough to offer a wealth of opportunities, but small enough for personalised support. Our unique pathways allow you to tailor your studies to your specific goals, and we have seen that today, with students off to study at top universities including Durham and St Andrews, across a wide range of courses including Medicine, Maths, Marketing, Finance, Law and Natural Sciences.
“We are thrilled that 81% of our students secured their first choice place today and every student who had applied for a university place is off to start higher education courses. We are looking forward to meeting the next generation of Sixth Form students during Year 12 enrolment 21-22nd August next week and at our Sixth Form Open Evening on 4th December. We would love everyone to experience our vibrant Post-16 community first-hand and find out how we can offer students the opportunity to excel, discover their passions, and prepare for a bright future.”
