Against the Odds: Prudhoe Year 13 Shine in A-Level Success

Despite an extraordinarily challenging year marked by school closures, online learning, and even relocating to a site 17 miles away, students of Prudhoe Community High School have achieved remarkable results.

Their resilience, dedication, and the unwavering support of staff, families, and the wider community are a true testament to the strength of the North East’s schools. Here’s what they had to say…

“After what has been an incredibly challenging year for all of us at Prudhoe Community High School, we could not be more proud of our Year 13 students today. They have managed school closure, online learning and the move to a school 17 miles away, and they have still managed to achieve amazing results.

37% of all grades were grade A* / A / Distinction / Distinction* with 26% of all A Level grades at A*/A. 50% of grades were grade B / Merit and above and 44% of A Level grades were grade B and above.

88% of students have secured their first choice of university, studying a range of subjects including Medicine, Engineering , Nursing and Degree Level Apprenticeships in a range of universities around the country.

These are incredible results and reflect the resilience and commitment from our students. We are so grateful for the support of our parents and carers, the community and our amazing staff throughout the last 6 months. What a year!”
