Pupils happy with their GCSE results at Huntcliff School

There were many happy faces at Huntcliff School today as students celebrated their GCSE successes.

Head Teacher, Lynsey Wilkinson said:

“We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students who have worked extremely hard and demonstrated enormous amounts of resilience and determination throughout their KS4 studies – their achievements are very well deserved.Despite some of the concerning national headlines, I am very pleased to report that our students’ achievements remain in line with last year and above those attained prior to the pandemic, with three quarters of our cohort securing passes in both English and maths, enabling them to move onto their course of choice next year.

The achievements of this year group are remarkable considering the significant disruption to their KS3 education and the numerous challenges many young people continue to face as a result of the pandemic – they have risen to those challenges and overcome them with the support of their families and the dedicated staff here at Huntcliff. The positive outcomes achieved today are an indicator of the improvement journey that Huntcliff School has been on in recent years, which is a testament to our hardworking staff body, the support we receive from parents, governors and Vision Academy Learning Trust and of course our wonderful students.”

Anthony L, delighted with his results, is looking forward to continuing his studies in  Computer Science at Middlesbrough College.

One parent, reflecting on her Daughter’s achievements at Huntcliff said her GCSE results “are out of this world, particularly when taking into consideration the considerable difficulties she experienced with her Y6 SATS.”

Arran Q, added he was “so happy!” Arran is off to Prior Pursglove to study Maths, Physics  and Computer Science.

Chloe A, was also elated when receiving her results. “I feel thrilled! I didn’t know I was going  to get these really good results! I’m going to Prior to do History and Performing Arts.” Chloe’s Mum added ‘I’m overjoyed! she’s worked hard and school have been supportive.

Kaitlyn D’s Mum, also delighted with her Daughter’s results added “Huntcliff has been  amazing for Kaitlyn; I can’t praise the staff here enough.”
