Sixth form students from Trinity Catholic College collect their results
Students at Trinity Catholic college received their results today with many students gaining qualifications for them to move on to their desired next step.
James Chadwick has been awarded a D*D* in BTEC Engineering and an A grade in Mathematics. James attended St Augustines RC Primary School and Trinity Catholic College. His excellent grades will enable him to further his chosen career in the financial sector. More specifically, he has an interest in Business Marketing. His teachers were delighted with his results and are very proud of his achievement.
James thanked T6 teachers for their support and said to future T6 students: “Listen to your teachers, they know what is best for you.”. Throughout his time at T6, James has been an exemplary student and we wish him all the best for the future.
Phoebe Teasdale shows resilience throughout the year to secure her university place. Phoebe and her teachers are delighted with her results. She earned an A* in English Literature, a B in History and a B in Sociology.
Phoebe attended St Edward’s RC Primary School and Trinity Catholic College. Throughout her education she has been a model student, displaying an impeccable work ethic and attitude. Phoebe was diagnosed with autism in June 2023 and has shown great inner strength in overcoming feelings of anxiety about her examinations.
Phoebe’s message to future T6 students is clear. She said “Work hard. Your teachers will support you well.”
Mr Scarr, Head of Sixth Form, said “I have been blown away by Phoebe’s work ethic and flair for her studies. In her time at T6, she has grown as a person and I wish her nothing but the best for her future.”
Phoebe will study Politics and Sociology at Lancaster University.
Alfie Williams and Jacob Williams earned top grades and both are looking to a career in Mechanical Engineering.
Alfie and Jacob have excelled at T6 Sixth Form. Alfie earned an A in Chemistry, an A in Mathematics and an A in Physics. His twin brother, Jacob, achieved an D*D* in Engineering and an A in Mathematics.
Jacob, who is going to Manchester University to study Mechanical Engineering, said to future T6 students, “Spend more time working outside of the classroom. After all, this is where you can make the biggest difference.”
Alfie and Jacob’s teachers are so proud of their achievements and recognise how incredibly hard they have both worked throughout the year. Needless to say, the boys are delighted with their results and appreciate the support they have been given from the T6 team to reach their goal.
Jude Brown is heading to an exciting career in Marketing and Management. Jude Brown earned a B in Business Studies and a D*D* in Engineering. Jude attended St Alphonsus Primary School and Trinity Catholic College.
Jude said “I had a lot of support from my teachers at T6 and am hugely grateful to them. I am especially thankful to my Engineering teachers for their support.” When asked what advice he would give to future T6 students, he said “Plan your time carefully”.
Jude feels he has matured in his time at Trinity and has accepted an offer to study Marketing and Management at Lancaster University. Jude’s teachers are delighted with his results and wish him all the best in the career of Marketing and Management.
Head Teacher, Louise Dwyer said:
“We are so proud of our students at Trinity Catholic College and the results they have achieved this year, especially given the disruption to their learning caused by the pandemic.
This cohort has responded admirably to the expectations of a new sixth form leadership team, with so many students showing such a strong work ethic and resilience. There were especially strong performances in Level 3 BTEC Diploma subjects. BTEC Engineering, BTEC Health and Social Care and BTEC Sport all recorded one hundred percent pass rates. Moreover, in BTEC Diploma Engineering eighty eight per cent of students earned a D*D* award. Achievements were also seen in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Forty-five percent of A Level Mathematics students earned a grade A or above. These results reflect well on our hard working staff and, of course, our students. No doubt they will open doors to university, apprenticeship and employment prospects. I wish our Year 13 cohort all the very best for their future as they leave us this summer.”
