Nick Gibb on implementing the new national reference test

Schools Minister Nick Gibb launched a public consultation on the introduction of secondary legislation to require selected schools to take part in the national reference test (NRT).

The legislation will come into force on 1 September 2016 and the first full NRT will take place in March 2017.

The consultation is an opportunity for teachers to provide their views which will be taken into account when preparing the final legislation.

You can submit your opinion on the implementation of NRTs  online at www.education.gov.uk/consultations by 22 January 2016. More information available here.

SCHOOLS NorthEast wants to know your views too. Please email Director Mike Parker with your opinion on the implementation of national reference tests from 2017.
