Eddisons provide consultancy advice to a large number of private and public sector clients, in particular the education sector. Our services in the education sector typically include due dilligence surveys; condition surveys; Planned Maintenance Programmes and in particular, Design and Project Management of refurbishment and new build projects.
The majority of our Design and Project Management appointments follow successful applications to the ESFA for capital funding to improve the condition of school premises. We have successfully applied for, and Project Managed in excess of £40m of work in the last 6 years.Through recommendations and repeat client appointments, our work load in the education sector increases annually.
Eddisons also offer architectural and commercial valuation services. Our in house architectural team are able to provide clients with measured building surveys, 3D laser scanning surveys, Topo Surveys and statutory applications such as planning and Building Control.
Our valuations team is able to assist with commercial valuations for potential sales, acquisitions and insurance purposes.

Case Studies
Completion of £800k CIF Project
Eddisons has recently completed a £800K Phase I Refurbishment at Joseph Swan Academy in Gateshead following an application for funding to the ESFA.
Eddisons undertook an initial feasibility to replace the existing 60 year old single glazed windows and curtain walling and adjacent uninsulated cladding. An application to fund the works was subsequently issued to the ESFA which included a programme of works and all other associated supporting information. On award of the funding in March 2018, Eddisons progressed the design and Project Managed the works through to successful completion - on budget and on time. The academy is now afforded a modern, insulated and weatherproof external envelope which the Academy is absolutely delighted with.

Curtain Walling Replacement
Eddisons applied for, and secured over £800,000.00 of capital grant funding for Parkside Academy to replace their 1950's single glazed curtain walling system to the main 3 storey teaching block and improve ventilation to their school kitchen.
Eddisons further designed and Project Managed the project from inception through to completion. This was a particularly complex project to manage as the works were undertaken during a live academic environment, which needed careful thought and consideration to the disruption and care of the academy users.
Eddisons were able to phase the works to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum and enabling works of scaffold etc were completed safely.
The project completed ahead of programme, within budget, and to the complete satisfaction of our client.
Refurbishment and Extension
Eddisons were employed by WISE Academy Trust in Sunderland to apply for capital funding via the DfE to replace 2,500m2 of flat roofs, and replace dated and dilapidated windows throughout the academy demise.
Two successful applications were submitted in December 2017 with works designed, tendered and completed successfully in 2018. Following the successful delivery of the above CIF funded schemes, the trust appointed Eddsisons to oversee the Design and Project Management of an extension to the same academy to create a Head Office facility. The project cost was £500k, and was undertaken in a live academic environment.
The academy now has a brand new Head Office and a thermally efficient, aesthetically modern building in which to work and learn.
