This report from the University of Bristol investigates how England’s secondary school admissions system affects educational inequality and models alternative admissions policies that could make access to effective schools fairer.

Curriculum and Assessment Review Final Report

Schools North East welcomes the publication of the Curriculum and Assessment Review Final Report, and the government’s response, bringing some measure of much needed clarity on how
the government will progress on reform of the education system. Additionally, aspects of the
report reflect recommendations made in our submission to the review. However, the review and
government’s response fails to tackle the deeper structural challenges facing schools in regions
with entrenched disadvantage and increasingly stretched resources.
