This webinar will provide an overview of the importance of attendance, expectations for schools and of academy trust boards and governing bodies of maintained schools.

Delegates will be provided with key updates in relation to the DFE guidance ‘Working together to improve attendance’ which schools, trusts, governing bodies, and local authorities must have regard to as part of their efforts to maintain high levels of school attendance.

This webinar will be delivered by Dominika Jureczko. Dominika has a strong background in education and has worked in governance for several years taking up the position as senior governance officer in the North Yorkshire Council new professional governance service in January this year.

Dominika has a master’s degree in English, Dominika’s background is in teaching - both in primary schools and adult learning. She joined the Clerking Service in 2013 as a Clerk and then Senior Clerk and worked with governors in a diverse range of primary, secondary, faith and special schools as well as academies, trusts and pupil referral services.

In October 2023 she was appointed as a Governance Officer, aiding and promoting good governance in schools.  As well as working directly with governors, she leads a team of clerks and, alongside her colleagues, keeps them up to date with the latest developments in governance.
