Curriculum Conference 2023

The Fed, Gateshead

Thu 2 March 2023

08:00 - 16:00

The Fed, Gateshead

THIS A PAST EVENT!

In the simplest terms, ‘curriculum’ is a description of what, why, and how students should learn within schools. However, in reality, it includes so much more. Curriculum planning and design is also not a one-off activity but rather an ongoing evaluation and reflective practice.

The Schools North East Curriculum conference is the perfect opportunity for all school leaders, teaching practitioners and learning leads to come together to discuss and share ideas on how to create a broad and rich knowledge-based curriculum.

Delegates heard a wide range of practitioners, academic experts, and colleagues from North East schools on the subject of curriculum and had the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the region to share best practice.

With the renewed focus on curriculum in the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and an emphasis on ‘quality of education’, the event encouraged delegates to reflect on the intent, implementation, and impact of their school’s curriculum.

This conference focused on primary and secondary curriculum.

Our last physical Curriculum conference was our biggest to date, with nearly 300 North East delegates attending. In 2021, we delivered the conference as a virtual event where we were joined by a national audience of over 600 Head Teachers, senior leaders, middle leaders, teaching and learning leads as well as teaching practitioners.
