We are Back at School – Hurray!

After 6 months studying from home, we (the children of Kingston Park Primary School) have happily returned to our classrooms! It is wonderful to be back but because of COVID–19, there are some restrictions and rules in place to keep us as safe as possible…

During lessons, we each have our own pencil case, which contains all of the equipment needed. We also have our own seats which we sit in for the whole of the half term. Our seats all face the front too. It isn’t the same as sitting in groups with our friends but we don’t mind as it is keeping us safe.
Throughout the school, there are staggered playtimes with different areas for separate year groups. Apart from that, playtimes resume as normal – fun, fun and more fun!

With regard to lunch there are new safety measures in place, the dinner staff wear visors when serving food. We all eat together as year group bubble in the gym.

Hygiene is obviously very important at this time. Between lessons and playtimes, the whole class will either wash hands or sanitise (the teachers and teaching assistants will help dispose the sanitiser or soap). School is certainly a little different but we feel safe and happy. We are just so pleased to be back with our school family!

We asked some of our friends how they are feeling about being back at school…
How are you finding playtimes?
“It’s definitely different but still great fun.”
“Fun, I enjoy playing with my friends again.”

Are you enjoying being back at school?
“Yes! It feels like I’ve never been away.”

How are you finding lessons?
“The teachers are doing a great job.”
“The lessons are just as great as they have always been.”
