Trust gifts Christmas thank you to School Support Staff

Valour Multi Academy Trust has found a way to reward its school support staff this Christmas by giving staff a voucher of £200 to help them with their Christmas shopping.

Support staff including cleaners and cooks have received a £200 gift voucher for the Metrocentre to help them cover the cost of Christmas and to say thank you.

Valued Staff

The decision to give this kind Christmas gesture came from Dame Nicola Stephenson, CEO of Valour and the board of Trustees. The board decided to show their gratitude towards the support staff in the school by surprising them with the voucher.

After receiving the gift cards, supervisors, cooks, lunchtime staff and cleaners expressed their appreciation for the gesture. The staff expressed that the gift was ‘unexpected but appreciated’ sending thank you cards to the board members.

Chris Zarraga, Director of Schools North East commented:

“Support staff work hard and keep our region’s schools running safely and smoothly. The nation is currently suffering from a recruitment and retention crisis in Education, particularly around support staff, and showing staff how much they are appreciated is important.  Valour choosing to reward team members with a Christmas gift is a kind gesture.”
