Sixth Forms strongest ever set of results for Cardinal Hume
Cardinal Hume Catholic School, in Gateshead, is celebrating the achievements of their students today after receiving its ‘strongest ever’ set of results despite all the challenges presented by the pandemic for this year’s cohort. Cardinal Hume is part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust.
Despite the challenges
Brendan Robson, Head Teacher at Cardinal Hume reached out to his students to congratulate them on their outstanding achievements, commenting that it was ‘particularly pleasing’ to reveal that ‘the number of students achieving the highest grades, with almost half of their A Level grades at A* or A’.
Brendan added:
“Owing to the talent and endeavour of this group of young adults, they have been successful in securing top class university and apprenticeship placements. I wish them all the very best as they embark on their next steps.”

CEO of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, Nick Hurn OBE also commented:
“Congratulations to all of our KS5 students across our 5 secondary schools for their hard work, commitment and wonderful achievements in this year’s exams. The results across all of our schools are very good with increased levels of attainment for our students as compared to previous years. I want to particularly thank our superbly talented and dedicated Head Teachers; teaching and support staff in all of our schools for their relentless drive for high standards, support and care for the students over some of the most challenging times we have ever had to face in education.”
