Rosa Street Primary Achieves Centre of Excellence

Let the good news roll on! This time it’s from Rosa Street Primary School, which is celebrating a very special achievement indeed…

The school, which is based in Spennymoor, has achieved the IQM Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status.

Congratulations to everybody involved in this impeccable achievement! We never tire of learning about when one of our region’s schools gets the sparkling recognition it deserves.

A great school is an inclusive school

It was reported that Rosa Street Primary School recognises the uniqueness of each and every child, and promotes inclusion at every opportunity. Now that’s certainly something to be proud of!

The leaders at Rosa Street Primary School were also bathed in a positive light; praise was given to leaders for assisting staff, pupils, and parents in understanding the school’s vision, and are rightly proud of their Gold: Rights Respecting School award.

Chris Zarraga, Director of Schools North East, said: “A well-deserved recognition for the incredible team at Rosa Street Primary.

“This award is a reflection of their commitment to nurturing young minds and they should be over the moon with their progress.”

Positive attitudes permeate throughout the school

Behaviour in schools is a hot topic at the moment, so we love to hear when schools have been praised for their excellent behaviour.

At Rosa Street Primary School, behaviour of pupils is indeed ‘excellent’ and, according to the IQM, personal development is rightly considered at every opportunity.

The leaders and all staff create a culture of kindness, the report highlights, and strong relationships and positive attitudes permeate throughout the school.

Plus, the children talk about their personal development targets in their learning and life skills, which is a great indication that they’re so self-aware at such an early age!

An award that celebrates hard work and bright futures

When we send our children to school, we want to know that they are nurtured and well supported at every stage.

Well, Rosa Street Primary School is doing that impeccably, as reported by the IQM.

The school has made space in the curriculum for children with additional needs to access a bespoke provision that allows Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PHSE) skills to be developed alongside their academic progress.

The report went on to say so many more brilliant things that the school has every right to shout from the rooftops. Well done again, team!
