Progress 8 pilots published for first time

Schools that opted in to the Progress 8 pilot in 2015 are having their data published for the first time.

Four out of the eight schools participating in our region performed above the national average of -0.03 (Progress 8) and 48.4 (Attainment 8). Two schools are below the floor standard of -0.5.

Progress 8 was introduced  by the DfE to capture the progress a pupil makes from the end of primary school to the end of secondary school and are designed to “encourage schools to offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus on an academic core at KS4.”

About 1 in 10 secondary schools in England (327) opted in early to Progress 8. In total, 17 were below the floor standard.
