North East Students take part in Mayor’s Schools Climate Challenge
Sixth Form Computer Science students from North East Futures UTC have been working hard on their team project for the Mayor’s School’s Climate Challenge, supported by Newcastle University and Ubisoft.
Students have been asked to create a game which explores climate change and will be competing against other schools in the region and the UTC team were visited by Jamie Driscoll, North of Tyne Mayor, to see how their project was developing. The Mayor also held some interviews with the students, which will contribute to a documentary on climate change in schools. The documentary will be shown at the Tyneside Cinema next year.
A spokesperson for North East Futures UTC said “It’s great to see how passionate and dedicated this team has been to the project and it will give them some fantastic experience to talk about on their applications and CV’s. Good luck, Team UTC!”
