Three North East schools have been shortlisted in separate categories for the Tes Schools Awards 2022.
The Links Primary School, Stockton, Sedgefield Community College and Sacriston Academy have all been shortlisted this year in the awards which celebrate the work of teachers and schools across the country.
This year, there are 20 award categories, The Links Primary School has been shortlisted for the Best use of Technology, Sedgefield Community College has been shortlisted for SEND provision in a mainstream setting of the year and Sacriston Academy has been shortlisted for Early Years Foundation Stage setting of the year.
Louise Daly, Head Teacher of The Links Primary School said:
“It is incredible news to find out we have been shortlisted in the TES awards for best use of technology. We are so proud of the way we implement technology into our everyday learning. It is a tool we use to support teaching and learning in all year groups and across all areas of the curriculum. We strongly believe that it can help improve achievement, inspire creative thinking and encourage the development of skills that will prove invaluable in the real world. We look forward to sharing some more of our work with the panel of judges. We love what we do and hope they do too. We are so proud of our team and our children at The Links.”
Director of Schools North East, Chris Zarraga said:
“It is incredibly well deserved when schools in the North East are recognised for their hard work. I would like to extend a congratulations to all staff at The Links Primary School, Sedgefield Community College and Sacriston Academy as it is their hard work and dedication which is being celebrated.”
The winners will be announced on Friday 17 June at a gala ceremony at London’s Grosvenor Park Hotel.
