North East schools celebrate the Education Arts Festival

Schools across the country have been taking part in the Education Arts Festival 2021, using the creative arts to promote student wellbeing throughout the past year during the pandemic, and sharing the fantastic work of pupils on Twitter, which you can follow at #EduArtsFest.

Morpeth Chantry Middle School, an Artsmark Platinum school, has creativity as one of its core values and they look for opportunities to enable pupils to demonstrate creativity and innovation throughout our curriculum.  Although this has been a challenging year for all schools, The Education Arts Festival was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the breadth of their Arts offer, giving students and staff the chance to reflect on and celebrate their achievements. The school showcased a wide range of work from pupils of all abilities. The school has continued to raise the profile of the Arts through the pandemic with students receiving a varied diet of online learning and carrying out their own personal research projects. The school said that it had been a pleasure to build upon pupils’ progress in lessons alongside the extra curricular offer. The Education Arts Festival enabled all students to demonstrate their passion for the Arts and how Chantry Middle school values the impact these subjects have in a varied curriculum.

Gracie said “It felt really good to think lots of people would see my artwork!“

Stephen said “I was really pleased when my work was chosen to be tweeted “

Elle remarked  “I love drawing and I felt really proud of my drawings when I saw them on the website“
