New standard to recognise ‘Master Teachers’

A new ‘Master Teacher Standard’ to recognise outstanding teachers should be introduced, according to an independent review commissioned by the Government. Teachers would also have to have gained the respect of both parents and pupils and be highly regarded by colleagues to become known as “master teachers”.
