New school funding campaign to launch next week

Schools North East will be launching a new national campaign next week calling on Theresa May to invest more money in schools across the country.

#FundOurFuture will give parents, relatives, schools, businesses and other organisations the chance to register their concerns over the funding crisis.

The initiative calls on the Government to make a commitment to allocate greater funding to schools in the forthcoming Comprehensive Spending Review.

Schools North East will be writing to Heads across the region next week asking for their support with the campaign.

#FundOurFuture has the backing of a range of school groups and unions including the Worth Less campaigners, NAHT, ASCL and NEU who have all pledged to promote the campaign to their supporters.

The campaign also has the backing of influential parent website, Mumsnet.

The Government will come under intense pressure from all sectors seeking funding in the lead up to the Comprehensive Spending Review.

The likelihood of schools receiving additional funding will be influenced by how much of a voter issue the Government sees the current crisis to be. Your role in raising awareness of the problems that the 8% real terms cut in funding is causing for schools is vital.

The campaign will launch next week so keep an eye out for information on how to get involved!
