Hadrian Park Primary School is aiming for prestigious Artsmark Award

Pupils and staff at Hadrian Park Primary School have embarked on an exciting journey to gain a prestigious Artsmark Award.

The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It supports schools to develop and celebrate arts and cultural education, putting creativity and wellbeing at the heart of the curriculum.

On striving for their Artsmark award, Mrs Wilson Artsmark Co-ordinator says: “We hope that our Artsmark Journey will promote pupils cultural capital in the Arts and promote Art skills that can be used in the future workforce. Additionally, we believe that Arts and culture can promote mental health and wellbeing after a very few difficult years.”

Mrs Wilson Artsmark Co-ordinator continues: “During our Artsmark journey, our pupils have enjoyed working closely with OGRE Studios on a creative and collaborative project. Pupils have unlocked their creativity by looking at “life statements” and creating temporary instalments, drawings, collages and GIFs to bring their creative thinking alive.
