Creating Futures: Gosforth Students Ready for What Comes Next

“Today is one of my favourite days of the year as we celebrate the achievements of our Sixth Form students as they receive their A Level and vocational qualification results and prepare to take the next step towards their future ambitions.

Results Day is often associated with grades and outcomes. This year the average A Level grade was a B and vocational grade a Merit+ which speaks volumes about how successful our student have been. However, for me it means so much more than headline figures. It is an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable individual journeys our students have taken, the challenges they have overcome, the friendships they have built and the ambitions they are now ready to pursue. This day represents the culmination of years of hard work, determination and resilience.

At Gosforth Academy, part of Gosforth Group, we believe in creating futures. Every student leaves us with their own goals, talents and ambitions, and we are incredibly proud to see our young people progressing onto a diverse range of pathways, including universities across the UK, apprenticeships, employment and further study. Every destination represents success and the confidence to embrace the opportunities ahead.

A snapshot of some of the achievements today include:

  • 99% overall pass rate (A*-E)
  • Over 80% of A Level entries awarded an A*-C grade
  • 73 students have an average grade of an A across all of their subjects

A special mention goes to the following 7 students who gained A* grades in all subjects they studied:

  • Daniel M
  • Mina C
  • Aidan G
  • Alexander G
  • Finlay D
  • Elliott A
  • Matthew A

The destinations of our students are wide-ranging from Medicine/Dentistry courses and Oxbridge to Newcastle Red Bulls Rugby contracts and Engineering apprenticeships.

These achievements are just a snapshot of the success across the year group and a celebration of our thoroughly comprehensive intake. Every student’s journey is unique, and every achievement deserves recognition.

We also recognise the important role played by our teachers, support staff and families, whose expertise, encouragement and unwavering belief have helped our students realise their potential. Today’s celebrations are a reflection of the strength of our whole school community and our shared commitment to helping every young person thrive.

As Principal, I would like to congratulate every member of our Sixth Form cohort. We are immensely proud of everything you have achieved.

We wish you every success and happiness as you begin the next chapter of your journey.”
