Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School celebrate golden anniversary
Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School celebrated their 50th anniversary by inviting staff, parents and pupils with a connection to the school to an open afternoon event on Monday 3rd July. Staff had found a collection of photos and created a gallery for people to try and spot themselves, friends and teachers.
Good memories
Everyone shared fond memories of their time at Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School and some even commented in the memory book. “Loved attending school here…and now it’s a great school for my children!’ one visitor commented.
“Happy memories from such a special school. It was lovely to see past teachers again and take a trip down memory lane.’ commented another.
“Such a unique school for its high standards and ‘family’ feel among staff, parents and pupils. Thanks for bringing it all back to me!”
A day of celebration
The school has been open since 1973 and in that time has only had 3 Head Teachers, including the current one. The school also celebrated the awards and accreditations that they have received over the years and wanted to share their successes with the community. They continue to be a ‘Gold’ status Rights Respecting School, an ‘Eco’ school for the 6th time and an International School. The hard work and dedication of the school team ensures that the school continues to thrive and offer fantastic opportunities for our children.
Chris Zarrage, Director of Schools North East said:
“These are moments which should be celebrated and it is brilliant that Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School has been open for 50 years! Schools are pillars of their community so to see a school open for such a long time, supporting local families and children, illustrates the incredibly important role they play.”
