Education ministers took departmental questions in the House of Commons this week. Shadow Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson MP, said that reform of childcare and the education system would be central to the next Labour Government, and asked why the Government had failed to make education a priority.
Today the Local Government Association (LGA), has joined the many organisations, including Schools North East, urging the government to extend FSM. The Royal Grammar School (RGS), in Newcastle, has an extensive programme of Partnership Activities with schools across the region. In the school year 2021-22, their work reached over 7,000 students and 300 teachers from more than 75 schools in the North-East.
Over December and January, Schools North East held its Trustee elections with a record turnout of responses from our Partner Schools. The results were extremely close with all candidates receiving a high proportion of the votes cast.
