A historic milestone: First-ever GCSE results celebrated at brand new school campus
Students and staff at Seaton Valley High School (formerly Astley Community High School) are celebrating a momentous occasion today, marking the receipt of the very first set of GCSE results since moving into their state-of-the-art new school building.

The atmosphere across the new campus is one of excitement and pride as the community celebrates these landmark achievements.
A New Era of Academic Excellence
This cohort represents an historic first group of students to complete their qualifications following the school’s transition to its brand-new campus. Many of these successful students will continue their studies in the new Sixth Form at Seaton Valley High School, where they will benefit from a wealth of modern, purpose-built facilities.
The Sixth Form offers a wide array of both academic and vocational pathways designed to support our students’ future ambitions:
Many students will be heading to local colleges or starting apprenticeships utilising their results to take the next steps toward their future careers.
Standing Out in the Historic First Cohort
Several students achieved exceptional results as part of this milestone year including: ● Lucy Hall: 3 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, and 3 Grade 7s.
● Molly Watson: 2 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s, and 1 Grade 7.
● Daniel Hall: 1 Grade 9, 5 Grade 8s, and 2 Grade 7s.
● Isabel Barry: 1 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8s, and 3 Grade 7s.

● Ryan Bland: 1 Grade 9, 3 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s, and 1 Level 2 Distinction. ● William James George: 2 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 6s, and 1 Level 2 Merit.
Executive Headteacher, Alan Rogers, said: “It is great to see so many students with positive results, and I am proud of the hard work and effort they put into their studies. These results, the very first in our incredible new school will open the doors for the next stage in each student’s educational journey.”
Chair of Governors,Rebecca Bray, commented: “I am immensely proud of the results our students have achieved; they are a credit to themselves, their families, and the school. They have achieved some excellent GCSE results, which are testament to their hard work and dedication over their three years at our High School culminating in this fantastic new chapter for our community.”
