Having worked exclusively in the education sector for over 24 years, SAS know that there can be a tremendous range of requirements when it comes to managing staff absence. Our tailored staff absence insurance policies can meet the individual requirements of Primary, Secondary & Special Schools; Self-funding Schools; Academies & Multi-Academy Trusts, offering flexible and unique cover. Our policies offer the greatest level of financial security available, underwritten by an AA+ rated UK based insurer.

In 2019/20 SAS spent over £4million on wellbeing services. Our comprehensive Whole School Wellbeing support, which includes proactive mental and physical health support for the whole school community, is complimentary with SAS insurance. Our wellbeing support is available confidentially to staff and can be accessed irrespective of whether or not they are currently absent. SAS staff wellbeing services have been shown to make a difference with over 60% of staff actively remaining in work while accessing SAS wellbeing support.

SAS introduced pupil wellbeing support in 2019 and have continued to enhance this range of support since. Designed with the intent to meet the new Ofsted criteria, and to help support schools in making the most positive impact possible on the wellbeing of pupils. Both the pupil and staff health support ensure we are doing everything we can to sustain the wellbeing culture within the schools we work alongside.

Wellbeing Feedback - SAS

All of this support has been so valuable for our team and over the course of this year we have referred a number of staff for counselling to help support them through difficult times. We have our final assessment meeting next week with Leeds Carnegie for the Mental Health Award and access to all the above long with a meeting with Andy Mellor has helped us really put in place some robust actions to support our well-being strategy.
