NetWORK NotWORK CIC

This free of charge pilot programme aims to inspire the next generation of business owners/entrepreneurs and can be aligned to your curriculum and outcomes.

The pupils will embark on their junior journalist journey by pledging to their full group 'promise' and junior journalism contracts and their mission is given. The group will design a business/entrepreneurial solution to the challenge which as a group will be pitched to 'the boss' with two groups winning the 'best invention' and best 'business plan' as chosen by the guest business owner/entrepreneur (boss). The group will research the 'boss' (business owner assigned to the groups) - research will be in provided information guides/business flyers, using the internet (the company's website) and other materials provided. They will also produce a list of questions to interview the boss later in the day via audiovisual podcast. Teams will be able to assist with video and equipment operation learning skills including green screen and camera operation. Not all pupils are required to interview/be on film (depending on pupil/parent preference). Pupil awards are presented and certificates are provided for all pupils. Classes will then be invited to write up an article for the digital magazine about the business and their experiences from the child/pupils perspective. The podcast will also be made available online. All timings can be adjusted to specific school requirements. A full project handbook can be provided.

We are a free of charge NetWORKing membership which aims at connecting, supporting and educating business leaders within the North East and then encouraging these organisations and companies to pass their knowledge and expertise onto the younger generation.
