Help local arts education company celebrate 10 years and raise funds to support vital RSE resources
Dead Dog Gallery at Durham Sixth Form Centre
Arts education company Changing Relations are hosting a 10th birthday event on 17th January and they would love you to join them in celebrating.
Clearly much of your bandwidth just now will be taken up with Christmas planning or what you can manage to get finished before a much-needed break.
But they are determined to bring the post-Christmas, January blues-busting cheer and there will be bubbles and nibbles!
Together with a fantastic graphic design student from Durham Sixth Form Centre, they have designed a retrospective exhibition to give shape to the story of their first decade, the themes they have addressed, their social impact, the schools and organisations they have worked with along the way.
And there’s a live auction taking place on the night, giving you chance to get your hands on a piece of original artwork which could be part of a school display, a gift or just something nice for your home!
There’s:
- Life size photo montage collages
- Textile banners
- Lego-style moulds
- Mixed media prints
- Drawings
- A beautiful collection of ceramics
- And even a set of babygros with gender stereotype-busting messages emblazoned on the front!
They have a fundraising target of £5,000 for the night which will be used to support them shaping and delivering learning opportunities for schools and community groups experiencing budgetary constraints but in need of the resources and expertise they can bring to help them:
- Help young people affected by domestic abuse in their homes, controlling relationships in their own lives or sexual abuse or harassment
- Do the ultimate public-purse-cost-saving-prevention-work that young people need to help them make safe, healthy choices that enable them to thrive in adulthood
So, from this perspective, as well as celebrating with all the wonderful people who have supported them along the way, they’re really keen to invite folk who might enjoy an evening of bubbles and artiness, to get an idea of who they are and what they do and whether this might be something they’d be interested to support.
Come along and see what they’re all about!
