Primary Academy Chain Development Grant

From Avec Partnership

The Department for Education recently announced the replacement of the £50k Primary Chains Grant with a new grant called Primary Academy Chain Development Grant.

The grant, aimed at increasing the number of primary schools that are academies (which currently stands at 15% nationally) provides between £100k and £150k of funding for primary schools joining or forming multi academy trusts and is on top of the £25k per school Academy conversion grant which is also available.

Interestingly we are seeing schools who are performing well and keen to seek “sponsor” status, then also able to apply for sponsor capacity funding too, as well as funding that comes with each sponsored academy project. We are working with a number of multi academy trusts that are now accessing these additional funds and typically the funding is being used to develop the business infrastructure of the Trust. This often results in the creation of a Business Director post for the Trust.

If you or your Senior Leadership Team are interested in learning how you can maximise the funding that is available to academies, as well as learning more about the typical costs of being an academy, either stand alone or as part of a multi academy trust, please don’t hesitate to contact Sarah Monk at sarah.monk@avec-partnership.com or telephone 07966 571 818. Avec have supported over 50 academy conversions in the region and specialise in providing post conversion academy services.
