Patron’s Dinner 2015: The Highlights

On  24 March 2015, the Stadium of Light in Sunderland hosted one of SCHOOLS NorthEast’s biggest annual events, a dinner for our Patron, Lord David Puttnam, that brought together school leaders and supporters from across the region.

The evening started with the East Herrington Primary Academy choir and a well-thought selection of songs. They did an outstanding job and set the right tone for the rest of the event.

While no one could dream of topping this fantastic performance, we did hear an excellent speech from our special guest Steve Cram and fantastic contributions from Prof. Peter Tymms, Lord Puttnam and our Chair, David Pearmain.

Patron’s Dinner 2015 was also, unfortunately, the last big event with Beccy Earnshaw as Director of SCHOOLS NorthEast.  Our Chair, David Pearmain, gave an emotional speech for Beccy and we especially appreciated his abridged performance of “Viva la vida” by Coldplay (you had to be there!).

Many thanks to everyone who attended, to our partners and sponsors, and a special thank you goes to the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), main sponsors for the event.

We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did and we’re already looking forward to seeing you back at the Patron’s Dinner 2016! Thank you for your kind messages, tweets and feedback.

We have a great gallery of photos which you can access here.
