Case Studies
George Stephenson High School
George Stephenson High School offers a wonderfully supportive environment for pupils. It’s an inclusive school that pupils can be proud of, and a notable landmark in the community.
We designed a large welcome wall to share the school’s history, celebrate their story and reinforce their values. Branded in the school’s colours, the design features the school’s namesake, George Stephenson and gives a brief overview of their history.
A timeline at the bottom of the design tracks George Stephenson’s life, from birth in the 1700s to his death in 1848. It was a delight to bring this design to life on the school’s walls.
This vibrant design bring colour and energy to the school’s reception area. The branded colours create a professional feel, with the school’s logo front and centre.
We presented all the information in digestible design boxes, so it’s easy to read and understand. And the large wall space allowed us to include lots of images from the school’s history. We really enjoyed working on this project for the school.

Clifton Hall School Alumni Wall Art
Clifton Hall School is an independent school in Scotland. It offers all through education for pupils aged 3-18 years.
Founded in 1930, the school maintains high academic standards and focuses on courtesy, self-respect and development of character. They are proud of their rich history and have an impressive list of successful alumni. One of these is Jim Clark OBE, a British racing driver who attended the school.
We designed a timeline tracking Jim’s successful career. From attending Clifton Hall School to his induction into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame, the timeline shares his many achievements.
Timelines are a popular type of Wall Art because they facilitate active learning. Pupils can walk alongside the timeline and track the course of history in real time.
Timelines also help pupils understand chronology at a glance. In this case, the timeline is personal to the school as Jim Clark was a former pupil. But a timeline can showcase any subject or field of interest. This includes world history, science, maths, english or STEM.
Pupils will feel a sense of pride to see the achievements of former pupils like Jim Clark.

Our Lady & St Bede Sports Wall Art
We designed Sports Wall Art for Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy.
Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy has a distinct ethos. Their approach is centered on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ.
We were delighted to design bespoke Sports Wall Art for the school. The inspiring images and phrases have transformed the space. Now pupils will be motivated to try their best. And they’re sure to give their all in PE and sports activities on offer at the school!
We’ve designed a number of Wall Art projects for Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy. So it’s clear that the school is serious about their visual learning environment!
And for good reason too! A survey by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers in 2010 found that 96% believe a school’s learning environment has an influence on pupils’ behaviour.” (School learning environments)

Sports Wall Art
This particular project focused on Sports and physical activity. The designs are the first thing someone sees when they enter the PE department. They showcase the sports on offer and the school. And they explain how each of the school’s values is applied in a sports setting.
This is a powerful way to combine the wellbeing benefits of physical activity with the school’s values. We chose inspiring images to complement the text, against a striking and colourful backdrop.

In this case, we transformed the PE and sports departments for pupils, teachers and external visitors who use the facilities. Often, staff and students from other schools visit for sports events. Our process
As standard on all projects, we kicked off this one by visiting the school to conduct a face to face consultation. Our consultations are free of charge and no obligation. So they’re a great value add to our service.
But they’re a critical piece of the puzzle. Site visits allow us to use our extensive experience to advise schools how to maximise their space and budget.
In this case, our North East based consultant Helen worked closely with the team at OLSB. She was keen to ensure they got the exact end result they were after. Helen liaised with the school throughout the process. And she kept the team informed on timings and milestones to manage expectations.
After installation, Helen also consulted with the school to get feedback and ensure they were 100% happy.

Valley Gardens Middle School Library Wall Art
We designed Wall Art for Valley Gardens Middle School.
One of the first questions asked when pupils join Valley Gardens Middle School is; “what do you want to achieve?”.
In fact, this has become the school motto. It reflects the opportunity for pupils to achieve whatever they set their minds to. The school places emphasis on physical, creative, moral and spiritual development, alongside academic potential. So children receive a well rounded education that aims to equip them for modern life.
We designed Wall Art for the school’s library. This striking design is sure to spark curiosity and fuel imaginations.
A school library can be a magical place. Pupils can escape their everyday worries and get lost in a good book. Reading changes lives. So the importance of an inviting school library cannot be overstated!
With this in mind, the team at Valley Gardens Middle School wanted to transform their library. They requested an inspiring Wall Art design against a magical backdrop.
We featured curious creatures and scenes that will ignite pupils’ imaginations. For younger pupils, this intriguing design will develop vocabulary as pupils discuss what they can see. And pupils of all ages will be inspired to find out more by reading books that reflect these magical worlds.
