Power Phonics is the only DfE approved phonics reading and spelling programme, born in the North East! Created in our region as a solution for pupils who struggle most within a backdrop of high deprivation and high SEND, Power Phonics is an entirely different approach. An adaptive teaching based reading and spelling programme, which scaffolds oracy and memory to accelerate progress and move ALL pupils beyond phonics to develop a real passion for reading. For many years, pupils have struggled in our region and the standard phonics approaches have not shifted reading outcomes for all. If not for all, then not good enough !
