Ponteland High School celebrates excellent GCSE and vocational results

Students and staff at Ponteland High School are thrilled to be celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE examination results today, with performance ranking amongst the highest achieved in the school’s history. 

Demonstrating outstanding academic growth, 80% of students achieved a standard pass (Grade 4 or above), in both English and Maths, while 63% secured a strong pass (Grade 5 or above). These achievements reflect remarkable dedication across the entire Year 11 cohort, with strong performances recorded in both traditional academic subjects and vocational courses.

Ponteland High School Acting Headteacher, Robert Spurr said; “We are immensely proud of our Year 11 students today. These results are a true testament to their resilience, commitment and hard work over the last two years, as well as the relentless dedication from our teachers, professional support staff and the support of our families. To see 80% of the students secure standard passes and nearly two thirds achieve strong passes in English and Maths is fantastic. These outcomes provide our students with an outstanding foundation for

their next steps, whether that be Sixth Form, apprenticeships or future careers. We wish every student the very best in their next chapter.”
