Top grades and University Success for Emmanuel College Students
Emmanuel College in Gateshead, host of the Emmanuel Schools Foundation Associated Sixth Form, is thrilled to announce another year of outstanding A-Level and vocational results, reflecting the hard work and dedication of both students and staff.
The results continue to uphold the college’s tradition of academic excellence, with students achieving impressive grades across many different subjects and going on to study at many prestigious universities.
35 per cent of A-Level grades awarded were A*/A and 59.9 per cent of grades were A*-B. Vocational courses saw another really strong performance, with the average grade awarded being a Distinction.
Many students achieved exceptional results with 28 per cent of the cohort gaining an average grade of an A* or equivalent.
The top performing student was Thomas Mabbit, who joined the Associated Sixth Form in Year 12. Thomas achieved an impressive four A* grades and one A grade. Six students achieved at least three A*s in all A-Level subjects, with two students achieving the top grade of Triple Distinction* in their vocational courses.
Principal Nat Ogborn said: “As students eagerly anticipate their next steps, we are proud to report that 120 students have already secured their firm or insurance offers. This includes 54 students attending prestigious Russell Group universities. Of the students holding university offers, many students studied at least one vocational course. This continues our proud heritage of students achieving exceptionally by choosing our well established and successful vocational route. Students are using these qualifications to get into top courses at top universities.”
The college is particularly proud to celebrate the achievements of four students who have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge University, continuing the college’s tradition of success with Oxbridge applications. Edith Anderson will study Geography at Emmanuel College Cambridge, Ashen Hazel will study Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Selwyn College, Cambridge, and Darcy Brooks will study Chemistry and Maria Waite French and Linguistics both at Merton College, Oxford.
In addition to these successes, the college has six confirmed future medics: Abobaker Ahmed, Nooralzahraa Alsudany, Giana Joshy, Shivam Patil, Manya Singh and Lukie Xie and one dentist.
Mr Ogborn added: “The future is bright for the Emmanuel College Class of 2026 at the Associated Sixth Form. The college community looks forward to supporting all students as they finalise their university or apprenticeship placements and embark on the next exciting chapter of their academic journeys.”
