Pride All Round as George Stephenson Students Shine
George Stephenson High School in Killingworth is once again celebrating a fantastic set of results for their Year 13 Students, with over 50% of students achieving grades A*-B! The outcomes for the students reflect the hard work and dedication of both staff and students. Securing these outstanding results will ensure that George Stephenson students are best prepared for their next steps.
There were some truly exceptional performances from individuals:
William achieved A*AA has secured a place at University of Cambridge to study Modern and Medieval Languages.
Evie achieved AAA and will head off to University of Manchester to study English.
Sammy has secured his place at Newcastle University to study Computer Science after achieving AAA.
Lauren Bell and Rebecca Ronan, Head of Sixth Form commented:
“We could burst with pride for our students! They have worked tirelessly over their time in Sixth Form to achieve the very best they can academically, whilst also contributing so much to the wider school community. Some incredible university places have been secured today, with many students excitingly choosing to move away. Seeing students ready for their next chapter is one of the most rewarding parts of the job!”
Headteacher, Peter Douthwaite commented: “We are incredibly proud of our students who have continued to demonstrate determination and resilience. Their wonderful grades both collectively and individually are a testament to the hard work of students, the support of their families and the efforts of teachers to ensure students are able to move on to the next stage of their lives with confidence, ambition and kindness”
