From Oxbridge to Apprenticeships: King Edward’s Students Make Their Mark

The King Edward VI School A Level students have achieved excellent A Level and Level 3 vocational results today.

The school is delighted that students are now moving into higher education at a number of high performing universities including Oxbridge and many Russell Group institutions. Many others have secured quality apprenticeships and employment.

Headteacher, Clare Savage commented: “We are so proud of our students’ efforts and achievements this year. I want to extend my thanks to all of the teachers, school staff, and parents who have supported our students along the way. Congratulations to all King Edward’s Leavers 2026.  The courses and pathways applied for continue to expand and reflect the varied interests and talents of our students. We have students moving on to study a huge range of subjects including International Relations, Medicine,  Engineering, Archeology, and Music Production. We are delighted that a number of our students have secured highly competitive apprenticeships ranging from the National Air Traffic Service to Engineering.

Several students are taking gap years to consider their options, with some students travelling Europe, others working in the USA and one student working towards an international sports scholarship. Whatever their next step, we wish all our students the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about their future endeavours.”

52% of all entries were A*- B grades and 78% of all entries were A*- C grade. A number of students performed outstandingly well, including 11 students who achieved all A-A* grades or the L3 equivalent.

Jack Quinlan, Head of Post 16 congratulated them on their successes. “Our Year 13 students have shown incredible maturity and positivity throughout their time with us, building a culture within our Sixth Form that we are exceptionally proud of.

Following today’s results, we are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students across both their A Level and Level 3 qualifications. Every single student has worked remarkably hard to secure their future, and we wish them the absolute best of luck as they take these exciting next steps.”
