Seaton Valley High School Celebrates Outstanding Year 13 Examination Results

Students and staff at Seaton Valley High School are celebrating an excellent set of Year 13 examination results today, with outstanding achievements across both academic A Levels and vocational qualifications.

Executive Headteacher Alan Rogers praised the cohort, saying: “Our Year 13 pupils have shown extraordinary dedication and resilience, and these impressive outcomes are a testament to their hard work and ambition. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved especially when you consider that they have moved to a new school site midway through their studies.”

Among the individual successes, Ustym Havrylyshyn was the school’s top academic performer, achieving an exceptional set of results: A* in Russian, A in Mathematics and Distinction* in Business Studies. Ustym will now progress to Durham University to study Economics.

There were also outstanding results for Rhys McCann and Ryan Read, who both achieved double Distinction* grades in Sport and Business, alongside a B grade in Geography. Ryan Read will be undertaking a degree apprenticeship in Sports and Business Marketing.

Faye Lamb achieved an excellent set of results, securing an A in English Language, B in Sociology and Distinction in Health and Social Care. Faye will now continue her studies at the University of Sunderland, where she will study Physiotherapy.

The success of the Year 13 cohort extends beyond university destinations, with a number of students securing high-quality apprenticeships. One such student, Ruby Scurr, will begin an AAT Apprenticeship in Accountancy with Armstrong Watson, combining higher-level study with valuable experience in the workplace.

Head of Sixth Form Adam Ironside said: “I am immensely proud of every single student for what they have accomplished during their time in our Sixth Form. Seeing their personal growth, confidence and ambition develop over the last two years has been incredibly rewarding. These results are a reflection of the commitment and determination they have shown, and I am delighted that so many of them are now moving on to exciting university, apprenticeship and career opportunities.”

The entire school community extends its warmest congratulations to the Year 13 class. Their achievements are a fitting reflection of the hard work, resilience and ambition they have demonstrated throughout their time at Seaton Valley High School, and we wish them every success as they take their next steps beyond Sixth Form.
