Louise Spellman
Louise is the Chief Executive Officer of Spark Education Trust, where following merger, she has led a period of significant strategic development. During this time, they have delivered notable achievements including enhanced school performance, improved financial sustainability, strong governance and the successful implementation of systems to ensure teaching of the highest quality and a curriculum that excites and engages. This has positioned Spark Education Trust as a bold, resilient and forward-looking organisation. The Trust values of mutual respect, hearty collaboration and courageous ambition are the values that shape Louise’s work in and beyond the Trust.
Her engagement with Schools North East is extensive and sustained. She is an active member of the Schools North East Advisory Board, contributing regularly to strategic discussions and providing system-level insight from both a school and trust perspective. She has participated in Schools North East events and roundtables for many years and recently delivered at the Schools North East Academies Conference, sharing practical learning from Spark Education Trust’s experience of merger processes and trust development. Her ongoing involvement reflects her commitment to collaborative improvement and to strengthening the education landscape across the region. She wants to ensure that every young person in the North East receives and achieves the best.
