Wallsend Children’s Community

Wallsend Children’s Community has been a catalyst for change in our community since 2017. We bring together local people, services and partners to create lasting improvements in education, health, and well-being. We are focused on making sustainable changes that will benefit children and families for years to come; and creating effective systems so the lessons learnt can be shared in other communities, regionally and nationally. 

We focus on learning and supporting our community to address the root causes of inequality. Our approach is to build networks and capacity, ensuring local people have the resources and knowledge to create change. This includes research and data collection, knowledge sharing, direct community activity, sharing of lived experience, and advocacy. It involves nurturing partnerships with services and stakeholders within our community, spanning education, housing, healthcare and social services.
