Thinking about starting the OPAL Primary Programme at your school? Join us and be inspired by observing one of the best school playtimes in the country. Where kids get muddy, build dens, take risks, explore, experiment and achieve every single day!
This event is for headteachers from schools interested in starting the OPAL Primary Programme. If the head is unable to attend, please send a suitable deputy. We allow for two tickets per school, so you are also welcome to bring a member of your teaching staff.
10am Arrival
10:10am–10:35am Observation of playtime
Come and see an OPAL playtime in action – ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.
10:35am–11:30am Introduction to OPAL
An introduction to the OPAL Primary Programme from the North East OPAL team. Join the headteacher to hear about their journey to outstanding playtimes and take the opportunity to ask questions.
About Leyburn Primary School

Set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, the school offers a warm, rural learning environment.
Leyburn Primary School have been on their OPAL journey for several years now and have recently been awarded their second OPAL Platinum Award for their high-quality play provision. Their site offers a rich and inclusive play environment for all of their students, who are heavily involved in the running and development of the provision.

Only two tickets per school. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
