Speaker Profile

Louise Sanderson

Louise began her teaching career in 2000 after completing a BA Hons in Primary Education at Northumbria University. As an NQT, she returned to the First School where she had been a pupil to take up her first teaching role as Year 2 teacher, later becoming Key Stage 1 Lead and a Key Stage 1 moderator. Her school, Kingsway, then merged with nearby Crofton, the two First Schools becoming a two form entry primary school in the Blyth Quays Trust. She then moved into Reception before studying for her masters in Early Education and became an Early Years moderator, supporting her drive towards leadership. Louise progressed from Early Years Lead to Assistant Headteacher and, under her leadership, the school achieved consistently strong Early Years outcomes. After the school became part of the WISE trust, Louise continued to play an instrumental role in the journey of the school as it gained its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement in January 2023. Louise took up the post of Headteacher in September 2023.
